Under the Foundation's six-monthly Open Call, researchers and consortia may apply for grants of up to 24,300€ (30,000€ gross amount) to fund research projects on topics relevant to the relationship between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. The Foundation will publish the results of these studies. Each edition of the call will award one project.
The Open Call is part of the Foundation’s effort to promote mutual knowledge and visibility of the partnership among the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean. Stimulating debate on issues that are relevant to the EU-LAC agenda enables the Foundation, within its work programme “Explore”, to propose ways of cooperating on these issues in the bi-regional relationship.
The deadlines to present proposals under the call will be 31 March for the spring editions and 30 September for the autumn editions.
Proposals presented under the Open Call will be evaluated by the Foundation’s independent Academic Council, consisting of five eminent experts from the fields of EU-LAC relations, European, Latin American and Caribbean Economics, and Political Science.
